Fair Use

If you're looking for a fair-use photo website, look no further. Flickr is a free photo website for people looking to avoid copyright infringement. Still, posting photos to Flickr doesn't take them away from you. In the Terms, Flickr warns users not to pretend that another person's picture is their own. Although others may use your material for education, you can still check up on what you've made. This way, others can benefit from your efforts without your email being swamped with requests for use. You can maintain ownership of your photo, while still allowing users more freedom than with a strict copyright with no Creative Commons license. This is exactly what the creators of Creative Commons were trying to create. They recognized that not everyone is as strict as others. You may not mind at all if a student uses your photo- it's publicity for you! Flickr is the perfect place to start using your work to benefit others!
